Who is "Sweetperceptions"?

Well, you might have known, if it isn't too obvious yet, I'm sweetperceptions. That is my writing/programming persona. By far, I've found only two (2) sweetperceptions on the web, and one is myself.

I'm Maricris S. Nonato. This is actually my second site. I had my first domain a couple of years back (when the blogging days are not yet here), though I got tired of maintaining it, so I lost it.

I'm a programmer from the Philippines. I'm currently working as a consultant, as a Web Applications Developer in Ortigas, Manila. My passion is into coding not management nor blogging, though I've worked as an IT manager, Software Dev Manager, Dev Team Head, an Analyst, a Teacher, a part time blogger, and even as a Marketing Advertiser. I built this site so that I'd have some medium with with I can share and demonstrate my capabilities. In other words, this is my playground! Though its true that we already have many online tools that we can make use of, I'd still like to collect everything on the web that is related to me in here. Honestly, I think that the web is too big (yet I worry about it being too small sometimes) that there are many clutters left untidied. I've had many public emails, and public accounts with many other online service providers, but I do take responsibility in deleting my account and other records with them before I leave their service. This ensures that I keep my record clean and that I manage all my subscriptions and memberships to only what I need. Tedious, but I think this will pay off in the near future. My current expertise are now into Ror or Ruby on Rails, PHP5 (loving Symfony too), and Python. Over the years, I've experienced using other languages and exhausted many efforts to understand and master other software tools to aid in programming. Some of them were helpful enough to build my current understanding of programming and how languages differ by only a handful of syntax definition and strength variations. These three (3) chosen expertise of mine fit my need for both coding web pages and software applications. Ruby and Python by themselves can be written and compiled into a standalone application. PHP, on the other hand can work with GTK libraries and be built in the same way. With these, I decide to master these three languages to maximize their full potential. (impatients, click here)

I graduated from the University of the Philippines with degree of BS Computer Science. As of the moment, I do not have my master's degree yet because I want to take master courses abroad. Soon, I'll leave the country to study, but not until my two sisters graduate college. If you want to learn more about my professional background, I do have a LinkedIn profile that you can check. My work bio is also quite lengthy, maybe you could peek at my online text resume, as I don't freely distribute my comprehensive resume.

This site is self supporting. It earns only through minimal ads at the side.

Hi, I've been busy you know. wink If you don't know yet, this site and my blog codes are hosted in Unfuddle. I recently moved to Git and found that they have support for private Git repositories. Below are details of my last git push.
